Business Consultation
Business success involves forming and maintaining relationships with employees, partners, customers, and clients. This is not always a simple or obvious process, and many businesses find themselves facing crises, traumatic events, or simply a lack of communication and common efforts.
Rick’s history in the business sector began in the 1980s with employee-assistance work providing assessments, short-term counseling for employees, and trainings for staff and supervisors. He has expanded that work to include other business-related problems:
He works with clients to evaluate the personal dynamics in their work environment to provide a plan for more successful communication that includes employee-management and customer-service skills.
With couple- and family-run businesses, Rick works to help establish more consistent structure and repair unresolved dynamics interfering with the smooth operation of the business.
He offers support in business settings experiencing unexpected traumatic events, educating supervisors how to communicate properly and treat employees, and providing tips on stress management and support for coping with painful events.
He consults with numerous nonprofit social service and mental health agencies providing clinical supervision, assessment of workplace culture, increased communication for management, and workplace conflict resolution.
Throughout his career he has focused on working with diversity and inclusion and provides extensive training on LGBTQ+ awareness.
